One more week to go until the Tidal Lock Release at Rockhal, along with our friends Miles to Perdition and the Kitshickers.
We have already announced that this will be a very special show, but have not really explained why, so bear with me:
This will be the last Retrace My Fragments show with our singer Marti. So it is far more than a release, but also a farewell gig for our friend Marti. He was in Retrace My Fragments from the very beginning, and from then until now, was always fully committed to our music. But there are times when you have to pursue your dreams, and this dream of his is no longer compatible with Retrace My Fragments as Marti will be leaving Luxembourg and trot around the globe.
To make this clear, there is no bad blood between us. When Marti told us about his plans, we all unanimously gave him our support and encouraged him to commit himself to his new adventure.
Retrace My Fragments are losing an extraordinary singer but we all keep an extraordinary human being as one of our best friends. So thank you Marti for all you did in over 10 years in Retrace My Fragments: thank you for your punishing vocal lines, thank you for your amazing live performances, thank you for your meaningful lyrics, thank you for being who you are and for all the fun times (and few hard times) we shared, on and off stage. THANK YOU!
But just as we encouraged Marti to pursue his dreams, so did he encourage us to continue the band without him. We tried out several singers (also a big thank you to all those who gave their very best at the auditions), but one does not simply replace Marti (or Martor ;)). So in the end we decided that the best solution will be no singer at all. And tadaa, here comes Tidal Lock, featuring the first three instrumental Retrace My Fragments songs. There will surely more to follow, but here’s a first “amuse-bouche”.
So, now that you are briefed about the special character of the show next Friday, you really ought not to miss it. Come hear three new instrumental songs and give Marti the farewell he deserves!!! And thank you for your patience if you made it down this far 🙂
